Dhaulagiri Expedition

Dhaulagiri expedition is the seventh highest peak in the world. It lies on the north –west of pokhara terminating high point at its eastern end.  This peak was first climbed in 1990 from Swiss People. It is almost distinctive in the world in terms of its rise above local topography (7000m). Over kaligandaki gorge the south east in about 30km of mid-air distance.Kali Gandaki is striking as Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri both rest near the river opposite each other over a deep valley.

When it was first revealed in 1808 .it was taken to be a highest mountain in the world .It was remained 30 years as a highest peak before its place was taken by Kanchenjunga. Dhaulagiri is also taken as a White mountain which proves of a magnificent peak rising as a massive shoulder of shinning snow and ice. It was buttresses by five ridges which recommend the probability of different routes for ascent.
